Add the antenna and module and the AVR is an XM tuner with display capabilities etc. I have never seen one from any manufacturer, so far that is Sirius ready. MAybe someday, now that the sub numbers are better. barbie845 01-28-07, 04:40 PM I think the OP is talking about the Denon/Yamaha/ etc AVRs that have XM compatibility built in. I don't know of any AVR's that have Sirius built in. fasteddielv 01-28-07, 05:47 PM I think the OP is talking about the Denon/Yamaha/ etc AVRs that have XM compatibility built in. Yes that is what I ment, thanks, Eddie Steve Mehs 01-28-07, 10:38 PM I've seen one and only one, it's made by RCA and not exactly of the same caliber as the Yamahas, Denons, Onkyos and Sonys. http://www.tss-radio.com/rtd260-disc-dvdcd-home-theater-system-with-sirius-p-4051.html johnnynoc 03-07-07, 02:26 PM If the receiver doesnt have anything built in for Sirius isnt there a docking station that can be hooked up to the receiver or is that not the same? Just curious because i have a new receiver on the way that is XM ready but I currently have a subscription to sirius for the portable sportster that goes in the car. Since my FM signal in the house is bad I was thinking i would just either bring in the unit from the car ad hook it up to the receiver or just buy an additional unit. I think you need an antenna and docking station though. Anyone doing this right now? johnnynoc 03-07-07, 02:37 PM Ok I guess im wrong. didnt see any docking stations...just a tuner for around $250 that you can hook up to the receiver Trebor Pyn 03-09-07, 09:41 AM John No, you are right. Go to Sirius web site(Circuit City also). You can buy the home docking station for about $50. It has line level outputs for your recevier, an antenna. and power supply. I plan to do this very thing for my second P&P unit that is in our car. fletch999 03-09-07, 10:37 AM What the home docking station doesn't give you that the XM ready units from Denon have is display capabilities of track, station etc. MAy not be a big deal, it isn't for me. I just drop my Starmate into the home dock and let it go. Don't care about the display. nuzzy 03-09-07, 09:09 PM Pioneer has them coming: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/pg/press/release/detail/0,,2076_310069593_396277747,00.html Baenwort 03-10-07, 12:23 AM Personally I like the Sirius Conductor as with the LCD screen on the remote I can see what is playing and forward browse the channels from upstairs or when siting or standing where I can't see the receiver screen well. DonB2 03-14-07, 09:41 AM Nuzzy, I went to the Pioneer site and it appears that the Sat Tuner is an add on or a plug in. Not sure why manufacturers have not seemlessly integrated XM/Sirius into exisiting AM/FM tuner amps. OK - I could dream that if XM and Sirius merge that Pioneer will come out with a replacement SAT tuner that will work in this Pioneer Tuner but I won't hold my breath. -DonB2 dapittboss 04-17-07, 05:10 PM I'm pretty sure the Onkyo TX-SR605 has a port to integrate both Sirius and XM. That's what I'm getting. Louis Zerr 04-18-07, 01:41 PM minituner, that is the difference with XM and Sirius, the minituner gives more flexability to put the receiver in control. swboltin 09-04-08, 04:45 PM Onkyo says they are Sirius ready. You can check their site. From the Sirius ready pop up: Sirius Ready SIRIUS brings access to over 130 digital-quality channels, including 69 channels of 100% commercial-free music, plus exclusive channels of sports, news, talk, entertainment, traffic, weather and data. This model has a SIRIUS jack on its rear that connects to an optional SIRIUSConnect home tuner kit. This kit includes everything you need for easy home installation, including the SIRIUSConnect receiver, indoor/outdoor antenna with 21-foot cable, and an AC power adaptor. SIRIUS has three powerful satellites situated directly above the U.S., enabling coast-to-coast coverage with high elevation angles. With a “clear line of sight” to your home, your signal is unimpeded by buildings, trees or objects that might block conventional satellite signals. I know this thread is old but hope it helps. CRGINC 10-05-08, 08:48 PM I see many CE's including XM ready receivers, what CE's have Sirius ready stereo receivers? Thanks, Eddie Some of Sony's AV receivers have both XM and Sirius options. Check Sony's website for specific models. It does seem that there are more XM ready receivers but that will change. I WANT MORE 10-06-08, 08:10 AM Pioneer receivers are both Sirius and XM ready which is a moot point now. Blindamood 10-06-08, 08:23 PM Pioneer receivers are both Sirius and XM ready which is a moot point now. Denon's higher-end receivers can do Sirius now, too, with a recently-released upgrade package. |
