OK, bit of a wierd question. I was starting a movie last night, and went to make popcorn in the microwave. Walking back in the family room, I hear a distinct hum coming from the subwoofer. Played with a few surround settings to no avail. When the popcorn was done, the hum was gone.

Is this why Monster can sell multi hundred dollar "clean power" centers? I didn't get the point in them looking at them in the store, but I think I just found out.

Or did I just get an AV system that tells me when the popcorn is ready? lol

Not at all...despite what the marketing people try to tell you.

The noise you heard is more then likely RF...no "power cleaner" can eliminate RF.
