SA 3250 HD output via 1394 to Mits DVHS?

Does anyone know if the firewire/1394 connections on these HD STBs are active and will work to record shows to a Mits 2000u DVHS? My cable company is TWC Houston and I have previously posted this same question yesterday in the TWC-Houston forum without a response yet, so I thought that maybe posting it in the hardware forum would produce better results.

Well, I hooked up the 3250HD to my Mits DVHS and apparently the 3250 is not outputting anything from the firewire output?
Is there a menu setting which needs to be made to send output to the firewire connection on this STB?
