Hey guys,
(Note: I tried doing a search already on the error message and there was one result which points to a non-existent thread in this forum, so I know I may be beating the dead Replay already, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask.)
I have a problem with a ReplayTV 5508 which when set to go to live TV, would show the first second and stutter while the audio would continue for about three more seconds. Then the whole screen would go blue with the "no video input" error message and the unit will then hang. I can hit the power button, but then every channel shows the same "no video input" error message. If I unplug the unit and then power back up, it will let me choose a channel but then show the same one second of video, etc.
I first tried wiping the MPEG partition via the 243 code, then tried wiping the whole unit via the 382 code. Still had the same problem.
Switched the input from IN 1 to IN 2, same issue.
Swapped hard drives on the unit. Went from an 80G Maxtor to a 120G Seagate. Same issue.
Furthermore, there was minimal dust in the unit, so it was not overheating. Also in the process of doing this everything was disconnected and reconnected.
Other details: Unit is using simple composite input and doing S-Video output, with audio going over standard phono jacks. It is connected to a Dish unit and that is working properly with no problems (as the TV can using PIP to see that at the same time, it is properly switching channels but then the Replay stutters.)
Now, I highly doubt there was a "patch" pushed out that would've caused this problem around a month ago when it started, so I'm suspecting a hardware issue. However, what's weird is that it is changing the channel properly, and it even displays a second of it. :P
Here's the fun part. This unit can still stream from my other Replay (a 5040 turned 50250) with no problems. I just can't do anything with live inputs.
So... any suggestions?
