I have a Directv HD DVR system that has Optical (Toslink) out and a Philips HTS 6500 that has Digital Coax in. I want to us the HTS 6500 for my sound from the Directv DVR. I can currently do it using analog, but want the digital signal for Dolby output.

I tried a Optical to Coax Digital convertor from Cables to Go (http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5fid=504&sku=40019) but sound skips all the time (constant). Maybe it is one of the cables, but don't think so.

Anyone have any luck converting optical to digital coax? Other products? Thoughts? Am I just plain out of luck?

THANKS!

I would try another converter. Might have a bad one.

What sort of cables are you using on the coaxial side?

How long are the Toslink and coaxial cables?
