I'm taking the plunge.
I've purchased a Draper access/ series E 106" HDTV high contrast grey screen.
I've purchased my ceiling mount and I am ordering an HD1000U tomorrow.
Is a three year pj warranty thru warrantech for 99.00 worth it?
Is a three year bulb replacement warranty thru warrantech for 99.00 worth it.
I'm a first time projector person and a buck is a buck so this is why I ask.

I bought the HD1000 and the 3 year projector warranty. I didn't think the bulb warranty was worth it "for me".

I'm going to get the bulb warranty first. Then next month I'll buy the projector warranty. You have to buy the bulb warranty at the time of purchase, but you have up to 7 months to get the projector warranty! This is if you're buying from ProjectorPeople! I want the buld warranty so If I have a premature bulb failure I will only be out of $99, intead of +$300. You see what I'm saying. According to the bulb warranty you can exchange for a new bulb 2 in that 3 year time frame. Sounds like a good deal to me! Goodluck. I say it's better to have it, than to wish you didn't have it!

What are the details of the Lamp warranty? What does it actually do? I could not find the technical details.

EX Do you send back the whole projector or just the bulb? Do they give you a new bulb if the previous bulb dies (regardless of hours used)? How do they know how many hours you have used the bulb?

I say it's better to have it, than to wish you didn't have it!Even better is to pay the $$, have it, and actually have someone honor it. The exclusions always seemed too restrictive to me, though it's not clear whether they are ever enforced.
