I hopefully see light at the end of a tunnel after spending over a month searching internet sites and visiting local stores. It's come down to the HL-S6767 and the 72HM196. I can get them both for the same price give or take but are there any major differences to sway my decsion. One factor is I have PS3 with 1080p which the toshiba can only do 1080i. There are arguments both ways if there is any difference on that topic. Any feedback would help. Thanks in advance....
Go with the Samsung. The Toshiba doesnt accept 1080P, therefore, your sammy will be more future-proofed than the Toshiba.
(Ive become a HUGE Samsung advocate after getting mine :))
you are going to get a barrage of people stating the technical reasons why 1080p is no better than 1080i and is all based on the de-interlacer of the set. I personally do not know enough technical knowledge to argue that fact, and those that do, have not done so (that i know of) so at this time.. we must concider it true.
Bottom line is that they are BOTH amazing sets. I personally am a Sammy fan.. and own a 6187 and absolutely LOVE it. I looked at the Toshiba when i bought but decided to get the Sammy based on some of the opinions of professional ISF certified calibrators as well as the past model's issue with blowing bulbs.
Either one you will be happy with without a doubt.
