I installed the 'hacked' firmware so I could upconvert over component. And that went normal.

But when I press the "HDMI" button on the remote, it only lets me have 480p

So how do I get it to 720p

I think I just figured it out. Turn up the resolution before putting the disk in, then when I press HDMI button (even though Im on componenet), its at what I set with no disk, 720p..
