I just bought a harmony 550 for use with a mitsubishi HC900 projector I bought that did not have a remote and will also be used with a dvd player and a pioneer a/v receiver. I'm need to find a way to program a sleep timer for the projector since I usually fall asleep watching a dvd and don't want the projector running all night killing the bulb. As far as I know the original projector remote did not have a sleep timer function. Is there any way to set some kind of sleep timer for the 550 and my projector? Or is there any way to use a master sleep timer that will turn all components off? I had a universal remote years ago that would turn my tv off (tv did not have a sleep timer) but is was a cheap remote so I had to make sure it was pointed directly at tv or the timer wouldnt work. Do I have to upgrade to the harmony 628 or 880 to get this feature? I really stumped.

Thanks

No Harmonys have sleep timers.

I THINK some Prontos might have that function, but I'm not sure...I don't think it's particularly common, except on higher end remotes.

Although none of the Harmony remotes have a sleep timer, you could try the steps below (this procedure assumes you fall asleep in a recliner):

1. Create an activity called Sleep, and program it to turn off all devices
2. Tape a thick sliver of foam on top of the Sleep activity button. The foam should be thick enough to make the Sleep button at least 1/4" higher than the other buttons on the remote.
3. When you are ready to watch a dvd, tape the remote underneath your chin.

When you fall asleep your head will tilt forward and your chin will press the Sleep button, thereby turning off all devices. Voila
