i just got my mits ceiling mounted and fired up for the first time tonight. wow this thing is awesome! but there are some hdmi issues. fyi i have a pioneer dv-490 upconverting dvd player with hdmi out. this unit works flawlessly with my sharp lcdtv with a 6ft cable. the unit does not work with the mits though over a 50 ft cable. all i get is snow which leads me to believe it could be an hdcp issue or a bad cable. well i hooked my powerbook dvi output via a dvi to hdmi converter to the 50 cable and bam i get a great image so i know the cable works. is there a hdcp handshake issue going on? or is the signal from the pioneer not strong enough so perhaps a hdmi repeater would be in order? any ideas would be much appreciated.

for a run that long I know monoprice.com mandates that you get a .24 AWG cable (much heavier than the regular .28 AWG they recommend for shorter runs.) I don't know how heavy your cable is but that could be it. HDMI should work on a 50FT run if you have the right guage of cable. However, I've had a little trouble with my cable (snow, and a green picture) but this was because the cable is a bit touchy getting it plugged into the projector. The connection is a little loose and I need to get it at just the right angle to get a perfect picture. Very weird. I don't know if this helps you or not.

thanks guys for the reply. i guess i will be hunting for a signal booster now. i hooked up the pioneer over lunch via me on a ladder holding the thing within 6 ft of the hd1000u with a 6' hdmi cable and it worked fine, so i know that its not the mits or the pioneer or even the 50' since that works fine with my powerbook. it must be the combo of the pioneer and the 50' cable.
