Not sure this qualifies as an HTPC, but it IS a computer and I do use it for gaming so here it goes:)

I picked up an HD1000U a week or so ago and have been using the component input for my digital cable and DVD inputs. My laptop(an Inspiron E1705) has been hooked up using the old standard VGA analog cable.

I ordered a DVI to HDMI cable so I could digitally connect my laptop to my projector. When it arrived, I hooked it up and everything worked like a charm.

Then, with no changes that I can recall (I regularly check my nVidia display settings configurations and Powerstrip settings to further optimize things), suddenly it stopped working. My projector will accept VGA cable input like before no problem. It accepts the component input no problem. However, there is no recognitiion of the laptop's output on the HDMI input port. I've quadruple checked my connections and I'm totally at a loss. The DVI output from the laptop is still functioning as I've tested it with a standard DVI cable to an LCD monitor I had laying around. I don't have another HDMI input device around I can test the cable on.

At this point, I'm ready to reinstall video drivers on my laptop, but that feels like an act of desperation more than thoughtful deduction.

I thought maybe I was outputting a vertical refresh too high for the projector to recognize, but I've quadruple checked that I'm at 1280x720p @ 60hz.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Does the Mits1000 have a "RESYNC" button somewhere on the remote?

I could be that the HDMI port on the projector simply isn't synching to the picture.

I assume you manually choose the HDMI port on the remote so you know the PJ is reading that port, and then press the RESYNCH button on the remote. Oh yeah, it also helps to make sure that the laptop is configured to output from its HDMI.

I know on alot of laptops you have to do a Function Key/Key-press combination in order to "enable" the VGA or DVI outputs, otherwise the laptop only sends the signal to the laptop screen.

Have you tried that?
