Just got a ViP 622. I'm receiving local digital OTA channels with no problems but they do not have Program Guide info, and therefore many of the DVR freatures cannot be used. The user manual says that OTA local channels can be assigned a network affiliation to get Program Guide features. I can't find anything in the manual that tells how to do this and I've gone through virtually every setup option and I can't find a way to assign a network affiliation to an OTA channel.
Is it really possible to get program guide info for OTA channels with the 622? Anyone know how?
Thanks
Keith
You have to subscribe to the local channels to get guide data. You can create manual timers if you don't want to pay for locals.

Was afraid that was the case. The user manual implies otherwise, stating that OTA channels will appear in the Program Guide after a network affiliation has been assigned. Either that means something different that I thought, or the manual describes a feature that is not really there.

This may seem like a silly question, but assuming you subscribe to your SD locals but have to get HD OTA via antenna (Dish Network) I know Other SD or digital channels in my area might come in depending on area and antenna size...(In my case Cleveland/Akron/Canton Other than the networks, Youngstown, Wheeling/Steubenville, even Pittsburgh on a good day)..would the off-air stations be mixed in with the Dish Network provided Network channels? Example:
3 WKYC (Dish)
3-1 WKYC -DT (OA)
3-2 WKYC Weather Plus (OA)
5 WEWS (Dish)
5-1 WEWS-DT (OA)
7 WTRF Wheeling (OA)
8 WJW (Dish)
8-1 WJW-DT (OA)
9 WTOV Steubenville (OA)
17 WDLI Canton (OA) (all digital OA)
17-1 WDLI-TBN Teen Channel (forget what it is called)
17-2 WDLI-TBN Church Channel
17-3 WDLI-TBN Enlace
17-4 WDLI-TBN Smile Of A Child
19 WOIO (Dish)
19-1 WOIO-DT (OA)
21 WFMJ Youngstown (OA)
23 WVPX (OA)
23-1 Worship (OA)
25 WVIZ (Dish)
25-1 (OA)
27 WKBN Youngstown (OA)
33 WYTV Youngstown (OA)
43 WUAB (Dish)
43-1 The Tube (OA)
44 WOUC Cambridge (OA)
45 WNEO Alliance (OA) [same as 49 Akron which is on Dish]
45-1 (OA)
49 WEAO Akron (Dish)
49-1 (OA)
52 WIVM-LP Canton (OA)
55 WBNX (Dish)
61 WQHS (Dish)
67 WOAC (OA)
Only what I might get with a good antenna..My point is , would the 622 program guide mix the channels in this way or would the OTA and Satellite locals be separated? (OA)=Over the air
BTW: Some of The digital channels listed are just a guess on my part.
The dish channels will show up with -00 and the OTA channels show up as -01 (and up if they multicast)
If you don't want them to mix you can turn off the remap and then the dish channels will only appear on their 4 digit location.

I think this is a hold over from the originally planned analog tuning support. It didn't work that well anyway when I tried it on my 811, it only showed the primetime shows.
