I have a question about this TV

http://www.samsung.com/Products/TV/DLPTV/HLS5065WXXAA.asp?page=Features

It was 50" Widescreen DLP® w/ 720p Resolution, does that mean the TV only goes up to 720p? Or does it it do 480/720/ and 1080i?

Thanks for any help, all this stuff is confusing to me.

It will accept 480i/p, 720p, and 1080i but they will be converted to 720p since that is how many "pixels" it displays.

All microdisplays (DLP, LCOS, LCD, and plasma) can only display 1 resolution, which is whatever it's native resolution happens to be. DLPs come in 2 varieties, 720p and 1080p. Although they can accept other resolutions, such as 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and (for 1080p DLPs) 1080p, they are automatically scaled to the native resolution.
