Being a Denon DVD 2200 owner myself I would like to know if other 2200 owners have changed over to an up-scaling or HD player?

View Full Version : Denon DVD 2200 to Up-Scaler or HD? 49Merc 01-29-07, 07:32 PM Being a Denon DVD 2200 owner myself I would like to know if other 2200 owners have changed over to an up-scaling or HD player? Louisp Venom5 01-29-07, 08:32 PM Hi, I had a 2200 with SDI mod used with a IscanHD. I've since sold this setup and got a Denon 3930ci. The 2200 is a great universal player, perhaps you should keep it for it's SACD playback capability (if you're into mult-channel audio) and just get a HD-DVD/blu-ray player with good DVD upscaling features. cheers Tyro 01-30-07, 03:20 PM My 2200 is just about dead and I'm not too happy with Denon right now. I ordered an Oppo 981 and it is in transit right now. 49Merc 01-31-07, 01:15 PM Thanks for the replies. At the moment I'm undecided as to what to do next. duffer_mcmulliga 02-01-07, 11:46 PM I am still using my 2200. Doing a little rejigging of the system tho. I did have my 2200 and Pioneer Elite HDDPVR run into my Pio elite 54txi receiver via component and then out via component to my Panny 58 600U TV. Problem is that the video isn't very clear. I am therefore, after shutting everything down for two weeks while the cabinet gets built, to having component out from each unit to the TV. I am hoping it allows ne to clean up the issue. BUT still using the 2200. BillP 02-02-07, 02:05 PM 1953, the 2200 puts out a great PQ. IMO, you are gaining only a little switching to an upscaling player, whereas, for not really that much more $$, you gain a lot by upgrading to high def (I paid $400 for the Tosh A2). 49Merc 02-03-07, 08:08 AM 1953, the 2200 puts out a great PQ. Since posting this thread I had the opportunity to compare my 2200 to a Sony, Yamaha and a Denon 757. Not one of those up-scalers produced the vivid color as the 2200. Last week I found a Denon 2910 on closeout for $249! Would I gain much by going to this newer Denon? Thanks, Louisp BillP 02-03-07, 12:36 PM Last week I found a Denon 2910 on closeout for $249!
