I tried an mp3 encoded with lame @320kbps on a Yamaha/Bose AM6 setup and the bass was non existent. It was almost as if the Bose system was somehow filtering out the bass no matter how I set the crossover.

I also tried the same cd on other systems and it sounded fine.

Any ideas as to what is happening?

Thanks,
Yeto

How is your system setup, and does the same thing manifest with other sources like regular CDs, etc?

You have all the speakers set to "Large"?

Do you have the Bose bass module connected to the LFE/Sub jack of the receiver and the sub setting turned "ON"? You may have to set the receiver's subwoofer type to "Both" or something like that...

No, regular CDs sound fine and the recorded CD sounds fine on other systems, such as -- Yamaha amp/JBL speakers -- Pioneer amp/Yamaha speakers -- and Yamaha amp/Klipsch speakers.

Do you think that it is possible that the recorded CD has lower bass frequencies than the regular CD and the 5.25 Bose sub cannot get that low?
