Can any of you guys help me?

I have just purchased the Onkyo TX-SR674 to go with my Panasonic TH-65PX600U.

When I connect my cable box via HDMI directly to my TV, it works fine. Using this method I have been forced to run a digital optical cable from the cable box to my Onkyo in order to get fairly proper sound.

But, when I connect things the way I am suppposed to, ie. cable HDMI to the receiver, then receiver HDMI out to the TV, I get no video - the TV shows no picture. Full audio works using this method, after changing the receiver's input designations accordingly.

I was told by someone that HDCP might be my problem. Yet from what I read, the Onkyo has full HDCP compatibility, and obviously so does my Panny.

Can someone give me some advice or point me in the right direction??

I really appreciate your help.

Steve

It's the cable box, it's not designed to work with an HDMI repeater which is what your AV receiver is acting as. Plenty of posts about it here that some searching should turn up.

i've got a similar problem. it's my xbox 360 that is giving me issues. it works fine when connected directly to my samsung tv, but when routed through my onkyo tx-sr674, i get no picture or sound despite having the inputs set up correctly.

surely the xbox 360 can be run through an "hdmi repeater". it's not like it is an ancient piece of hardware, right?
