I have a Sony SXRD and installed an Omnimount center channel shelf but decided to install it upside down because I didn't like the way the 2 front pegs looked. Instead of resting on the pegs, it now uses the shelf lip instead. Below is a pic of it.

Question-do you think this is okay? Because the front of the shelf (with speaker) rests on the TV bezel. Installing it the correct way (right side up) would mean that a bit more of the shelf would rest flat on the silver part above the bezel instead, along with the 2 front pegs resting on the bezel as well.

My speaker is about 20 lbs. Any opinion?

I wouldn't put 20 pounds on my plastic TV case.

A lot of people put more than 20lbs on top of their tvs.

The shelf does seem to distribute the weight fairly evenly to the back legs as well.

Two posts on the same subject in one night... ;) I have it set up similarly on my Sammy 5087, except I have two pegs in front of the speaker to completely stabilize it. I have an Onix Rocket RSC 100, and did not feel comfortable with it up there until I installed those pegs. Of course, my speaker has a glossy finish, so it was inclined to slide right off...

Do you mean you installed it upside down but also installed the pegs facing upwards to hold the speakera bit?

I solved my concern-I cut a couple of rectangular erasers in half lengthwise and placed them under the stand so that the weight now rests on the silver outer casing. Works well!

Yep. That's basically it. =)

I stuck a bunch of those little round cushion pads under mine so it wouldnt scratch the TV case. I did install mine right-side up though ;)
