I currently have the Samsung 5087. Does the 5087 just have a bad tuner. Over the air HD is way crappier then with my old Toshiba 50 inch 50HM66. And i'm using the sameexact antenna in the same location. I used to get FOX in HD now with the Samsung i can't and ABC and NBC look no where as good as the Toshiba did. Is there anything i need to set to get it to look better?

This is a big setback for me. FOX and football now i can't get it anymore.

Are you sure you're not just watching (or getting) the 480i digital channels? (Or even the analog ones?)

You might get some good info/help on the local thread for your area.

Basically, though, remember that you won't get your local station's Digital transmissions on the same (RF) channel as their old analog stuff.....even though the screen may say so. Stations are broadcasting DTV on a totally different channel, but "tagging" that with a "virtual channel" identification, that matches their analog moniker. Many of these channels are moved up in to the UHF band, so you'll need to have OK results with analog UHF reception off your antenna.

Also, all Digital receivers are "born stupid".....they need to be "taught" what is there, by running a channel scan, where the set looks for a digital signal, tunes it, and "learns" the proper channel data that allows it to decode the digital packets of information that create the video, audio, guides, captions, etc.

If you just enter the old channel number on your remote, all you will get (initially) is their analog channel.
