Samsung 43" DLP
Harman Kardon DVD 25
Dynaco A35 fronts
Wharfedale center and bipolar surrounds

New HD DVR coming sometime soon (tomorrow??). In reading this forum and gathering other information it dawned on me that I have had the capability to hook up digital audio but didn't realize it. Anyway this is what I think I need to do.

Connect new HDDVR to TV with HDMI to DVI cable
Connect coax or optical audio out of HDDVR to AVR500 receiver
Connect coax or optical audio out of DVD 25 player to AVR500 receiver
Connect component cables from DVD player to TV
Connect audio RCA patch cable to Pc/DVI audio input on TV

Not certain if the PC/DVI input is anything other than analog... they show it in the Samsung manual as being used in conjunction with the DVI input.

OK... My speakers all hook up from the receiver through standard banana plugs. Comments?? Thanks!

(MODS, please move if this is not the right place to post...) I looked

Looks like a good plan.

The audio input associated with the DVI input is analog most likely, you only need two channels of sound to the TV so it will be fine. You most likely will need to run the analog audio directly from the HDDVR and DVD player to the TV in the event you just want to use the speakers in the TV.
