I've had one on order with them for 3-4 weeks and they still wont give me an ETA.

i emailed them and they said Logitech was slowing releasing stock and they would ship the second they get theres. so who knows. the savings was worth it for waiting 7-10days, but if it takes a month then I'll be a little upset.

I placed my order on this site yesterday (thanks for the link Ryan) and they billed my credit card already. Did anyone who ordered from them else have their cards billed immediately upon ordering?

I'm not complaining at all. I was just wondering if having my card billed meant they were going to be shipping the 1000 soon since many places won't bill the card until they ship or are very close to shipping the item.

It is a little odd for them bill the CC so quickly. Too bad it's not an indicator of shipping status. :( But at least we're not really risking anything since CC purchases are alway protected by the bank. Anyway, I don't mind waiting for a week or even two to save almost $150 on such a device. I needed the remote extender too, so getting the extender from Amazon this place's low price on the remote helps keep my total cost below $500 which is good.

Since BB and the Amazon has their units already, I bet that TivoCommunity will most likely get their's in to ship very soon.

emailed them again about delivery eta. Was told that they have been told they are on a truck in route, and should be shipping out from there warehouse next week. So not in time for the Super Bowl for me, but soon hopefully.

Only Harmony and some of the big chain retailers that can buy in sufficient quantity to buy direct from Logitech have the 1000 right now as it hasn't hit distribution yet. Once it hits distribution, you will see prices like the one mentioned in this thread and lower. ;)

They are now charging full retail with a 20% discount good till 2/10. (final price 399 before shipping)

Yeah, I wouldn't doubt that there will be several places selling around the $369 price point in a month or two, or perhaps even within a few weeks. And that's good because if I like it, I'll be ordering a second one for the master bedroom :)

Since TivoCommunity has now apparently raised their price a little, and since they charged our credit cards within a day of us placing our "pre-orders" on their website (as opposed to waiting until they shipped them to charge us), perhaps TivoCommunity was just collecting cash in order to actually place their order from Logitech. Logitech probably had set a pretty high minimum quantity for retailers since this is going to be such a hot product (at least initially). Once TivoCommunity had "x" number of "pre-orders" on their site (and thus "x" dollars in their merchant account since they charged us immediately), they then went ahead and placed their order from Logitech. Now that their initial order has been placed, TivoCommunity raised their price since the remote is going to soon be a "stocked" item and will ship much more quickly and therefore be more attractive to customers. I suppose this is just "Pricing 101" stuff.

I do think that even $399 still is a pretty good price compared to Amazon, BB, etc. which are still at $499 AFAIK. $100 off isn't $130 off. But it's still almost $100 off (minus shipping). :)

I ordered my 1000 from the ebay seller "hometheatermen" for like $374 shipped w/o any problems at all. the remote came today brand spaken new in the factory sealed box. I highly recommend the seller.

May or may not be true, but could explain the delay...

Amazon has an exclusive online agreement with Logitech on the 1000 until the 16th of February...

Harmony is also trying their best to a new approach to protecting the selling price on the unit so which is the reason for such pricing differnces online.

There is plenty of stock on the 1000's and they're selling well. After the 16th you'll see them for sale at every retailer's site.

I believe we have the best price available so far for remotecentral members but cannot list that we're actually shipping orders and have inventory until after the 16th.

We offer the extenders for $99.00 but you'll have to ask us to ad it to your order as we haven't built the sku for it yet. They're also readilly available.

well hopefully you guys will be able to sell the 1000 for well below the $400 mark otherwise I don't think that your "best price" statement will hold true. I say that because I just bought my 1000 (brand new in the factory sealed box) for something like $380 on ebay from a reputable seller.

You might want to contact them about it since I'm sure they have them in their warehouse, they actually sent me the wrong item originally, but I contacted them and they overnighted the remote straight from their warehouse.

yeah as from my post i was informed last week that pre-orders are being shipped in the order they were placed and they are threw Dec so far, as of last week. Since i was late January hopefully soon.

Good news (for me) anyway - I ordered Jan 28 and they shipped my order Friday. They said they got a new shipment in Friday.

Also just want to note that they responded to my late Friday email on Saturday morning, the email was informative and courteous. So if all turns out well with the shipment (which is in DHL's hands at the moment), which I expect, I'd say I've had a positive experience with Tivo Community Store (I'd never heard of them & this was my first order).
