I have a 10 year old 50" Hitachi projection TV. It's starting to malfunction, so it seems like a good time to upgrade to an HDTV. My question is this- how do I get rid of this big ol' Hitachi??? I can't sell it, since it's not in top working order. I checked Ebay, and this model, in good shape, only brings about $250.00 ( I bought it for $3500). I'm guessing that some of you here have had the experience of disposing of one of these big free-standing RPTVs. Any ideas? Thanks.

id put it on craigslist and have the person come pick it up and deal with it.

Or donate it to a local nursing home

Try calling the waste management company that picks up your trash. Mine offers 3 free pick-ups of large items (beat-up sofas, old mattresses) that I can't leave on the curb for pick-up on trash day.

Wow, all good ideas, guys. I thank you for responding. Joe, I think my county has the same kind of program. I'll check it out, thanks.
