Has anyone seen a USB extension cable or know if a USB cable can be 25' long. My equipment rack is not in my theater and I want to put my PC in the rack for gaming and just have my steering wheel, joystick, mouse, etc. in the theater attached somehow via USB.

I would like to wire from my rack to my riser and just have a PC type USB connector in the riser to plug in my USB devices.

Anyone ever done this before?

Here are a couple of good links for you

You shouldn't go more than 5 meters (16.5 feet) without a powered hub in the middle.

Edit:

Looks like this might work for you:

Thanks Squidboy, from the USB FAQ it looks like you can string multiple hubs together. The extender from Monoprice claims to be a repeater, I wonder if I could connect 2 of these together, that would get me the 25' I need.

For less than $20 I might just try this.

FWIW -- I strung two of these together and it worked fine...
