I was browsing the cd rack at wallyworld & noticed that the remix of Beatles stuff mixed by ex producer Billy Martin has a dvd-a disc in it. I was wondering how it sounded.It almost made me run out & get a universal player.Right now I just have a standalone SA-CD player.

If you want to know how the mix sounds, even if not in hi-res, the DVD-A will play on a standard DVD-V player via DD. And the producer is George Martin, not Billy (who was, of course, the famously angry manager of the NY Yankees in the 70s).

A few people have been called that (DJ "Murray the K" comes to mind), but none have even approached Sir Martin's influence or contribution...not even close. As far as I'm concerned, he's the fifth.

This is one of the best DVD-Audio disc I own. If you are a Beatles fan it is a must have!

Yeah, only two other actual members. I look at the "fifth" in terms of influence and contribution, which gets me to (George) Martin. Stu used to have his back to the audience so they couldn't see he couldn't play. ;)

I have the non DVD-A recording of Love. Is the DVD-A that much better?

Yes. The stereo cd is very good, I keep that one in the car. The 5.1 mix is astounding, though...DTS is fantastic, the DVD-A takes it up a notch.

If you are "surround ready", the DVD-A is a must. Also, I would bet that in a few years it will no longer be available..............so, as they say, "Grab it when you see it on sale!" :)
