Thought I read on here a while back that at some point (thought it was sometime in 2007), any sets over a certain size (15" if I remember correctly) would be required to have a built-in HD tuner. Anyone know the specifics on whether this requirement will really go into effect?

Been looking for a 23" with a HD tuner, and have only come across a Sony and Samsung and they are both over $900, so am hoping the tuners will make their way into the smaller sets from the cheaper manufacturers.

It is in the middle of the year that sizes under 25" are required to have built-in ATSC tuners. If you are looking to get your programming OTA, then this is something to wait for. If you are on cable or satellite, there is no need for this tuner. Even sets with a QAM (unencrypted digital cable) tuner only pull in a few digital channels, in most cases.
