Well that time is coming up and I am starting the search for a new TV. They have changed so much in the last few years I've come looking for some help. I currently have an RCA 38" HDTV CRT. Yup that beast. Great looking TV, but it I'm looking to go larger now.
The max width the tv can fit in to is 58". I have a long living room that gives everyone sitting a pretty direct view of the screen. Where I like to sit when watching TV is around 14ft away for the screen. So I'm guessing I need to get something between 50"-56".
My TV time consists of watching lots of hockey in both HD & SD. Movies via my Xbox 360, and playing video games on both the 360 and Wii. I watch a little bit of regular TV in both HD & SD, but this is the least importmant. Mostly watching hockey and playing 360 games are my uses for the TV.
I am open to any tech DLP, Plasma or LCD as long as it has a bunch of HD inputs. They all seem to look great, but my girl really loves those plasmas & LCD sets.
Do I need to worry about 1080p or will a 720p set look the same at my viewing distance and size? Also I can get LG, Toshiba or JVC sets cheap because of a business relationship<I can trade them out services>. So recommending any of those brands is very important.
Any help is apprecaited.
