I need to create a matched pair from a Samsung LN-R238WA LCD TV and a Xbox 360 Dev Kit. The purpose of this workstation is for graphics programmers who work with rendering the output frames of a game and in this day and age with complex HDR shaders, these programmers need to see colors and contrast accurately.

So this workstation pair will consist solely of the LCD TV and Xbox 360 Dev Kit. The 360 doesn't have any controls for its output and we don't want to change the software either locking the software to that specific display. What we CAN do is generate test patterns from the software which is nice since the test patterns are actually generated from within the game that we are developing.

This means that all the adjustments need to made on the TV. Our company has a Spyder2Pro and I'll be using that with a laptop and the Colorimeter tool that comes with it. I would use HCFR but I can't get it to initialize the Spyder2.

The Colorimeter tool gives these readouts:

-CIE XYZ
-CIE xyZ
-CIE Luv
-Color temp in K
-fL

So thats what I have to work with.

The service menu in on the Samsung LN-R238WA LCD TV has these adjustments:

RGB, offset and gain (independent)
[More coming tomorrow]

So I can generate any pattern I want using the 360. I just don't know what I should do first, what I should iterate and in which order and what my targets should be.

My guess is that since this is over analog component connection, I should correct tint and color before doing white point and gamma and level tracking? I can generate a pure Cyan and Magenta pattern but do I need this for color/tint calibration?
