View Full Version : Which version of NIN's live dvd will you be getting?

considering the way things look for hd dvd at the current moment, as well as nin's website saying that the BD version has a slight edge over hd dvd as far as pq goes, and that hd dvd is not able to have on the fly alternate angles, i think this one may be a BD purchase. however, if the audio is better on hd dvd, then maybe.

your thoughts?

HD-DVD is the only option to me. It wouldn't matter with the PQ issue as it will be a long time before I see a difference if that FAQ is right.

audio is the same on both, but right now my BD player doesn't support TrueHD (most don't). I will be buying both as I am a hardcore NIN fan and like most have to have EVERYTHING that Trent puts out. Although it is highly unlikely I will buy the DVD release.

i think the sd dvd is going to have like an interactive discography.

I'm still on the fence...I've got at least 2 versions of every halo (most are 3 or 4 versions...some even 6 :o) so I can't see myself not getting at least the SD DVD and HD DVD.

I want to get the BD just to appease the collector (pun intended) in me, but at the same time, the part of that refuses to support BD is overriding that.

We'll see what happens...

Either way, I cannot WAIT to see this in its entirety. The teaser clips are awesome, but they're giving me massive blue balls. :p

Why don't you ask this question on the BD forum?

If the PQ of the HD-DVD is worse then the BD version I'll be getting the SD version

I'm getting the HD DVD, i have my HD-A1 hooked up with 5.1 Analogs so i can experience the full Dolby Track. My PS3 is only hooked up with a optical cable so thats why BD is a no go for me on this one.

yes NIN is Nine Inch Nails

and there's already a NIN topic on the BD forum.

Nine Inch Nails, what is that a rock band or something?

Doesn't matter, if it's available on both HD DVD gets my money. Every time.

"considering the way things look for hd dvd at the current moment". Exactley what is that supposed to mean? BR is finally catching up with HD DVD after 8 months and we are now supposed to be worried? Please...

A game console is not going to win the war in the long run. Unless of course, your twelve years old and mommy and daddy have lots of money. AVS members excluded, of course. We are a/v geeks and don't count in the long hall.

WOW!

and it's haul, not hall. if you're that old, you should know how to spell by now!

and what i mean about how things look for hd dvd now is exactly what it sounds like. it's got little content to support it and all BD needs is to drop the price of it's players and hd dvd is gonna get left way behind. face it, hd dvd, unfortunately, lost all it's momentum. or gave it away is more like it.

what is nine inch nails...WOW!

I'll be getting the HD DVD. The Blu-ray disc has a slight technical edge, but Rob Sheridan posted on the Spiral that you would have to have a professional monitor/projector to tell the difference between the two in PQ.

I'm just hoping that Year Zero will be on DVD-A too!!!!! :D
