I'm looking to buy a new audio/MP3 player, but unfortunately I can't find one with the features I'm looking for. I'm looking for something as small as possible, so I'm currently considering the flash-based class of MP3 players, including the Ipod Nano and Shuffle v2, Cowon iAudio U2, Creative Zen Nano, Muvo v100, and others.

Ideal Features:
- No software, flash-drive detected through USB2
- FM Tuner
- 1, 2, or more GB
- Replaceable battery (standard or custom)
- Support for standard VBR MP3s

The problem is, of the listed players, only the Zen Nano has all these features, but it is not available in sizes above 1GB.

I guess I'll have to give up some of the features I'd like to get the others, but are there any other choices?

I don't want to have to use 3rd party apps to load the player because, if I'm at another computer, that software might not be installed.

Listening to FM radio is not something I do often, but occaisionally I need to get weather, listen to a program, etc., and this feature is really nice to have.

Battery life on these devices may be very good, but when I take it traveling, I can't stop and plug it into a computer to recharge. The Zen and Muvo take AAA batteries, which is fine, and I'd consider the others too, if I could get a backup battery that can be swapped, which I don't think is possible.

So what other options are there? Is it impossible to get all these features in one device? There are a slew of products out there, but many are from brands I've never heard of, and besides not finding the features I'm interested in, I'm wary of buying something by a manufacturer I am not familiar with.

Any ideas / suggestions?

Thanks
-Mike
