Given that my PJ is not HD (although HD OTA/Dish broadcasts look much better then SD DVD), will get any benefit from the upconversion. I know I would need to get the firmware update in order to pass the signal via component.

Does routing the signal through the AVR for switching cause any loss in the upconverted signal?
