I'm looking for some software to keep track of my HD DVD and DVD collection. It would be great if the program allowed for adding new fields and re-naming fields plus do Internet lookup for filling in the data. Any recommendations?
DVD Profiler from Interactive (http://www.intervocative.com) works well for me. And the basic version with most capabilities is free.
I like Ant movie profiler. It is also free, very customizable, and interacts well with Xlobby (which is a great free front end).
edit: "Ant movie catalog" is actual name.

My suggestions:
PC - DVD Profiler
Mac - Delicious Library
Movie Collector. (http://www.collectorz.com/movie/) Made even better if you know some XML/HTML for customization!
DVDpedia - Do you know where your DVDs are? (http://www.bruji.com/dvdpedia) is another nice option for the mac that has integrated html export.

My vote is for Movie Collector as well.
Has anyone tried Movie Collector and the Centurion (http://www.collectorz.com/movie/centurion-cd.php) carousel or the Ziotek (http://www.collectorz.com/movie/ziotek_dvd_carousel.php) carousel device?
The CueCat barcode reader can be purchased on eBay for about $15.00 delivered!!

Yes, here is how I store up to 1500 movies. I catalog them here:

Then store them here:

If I need more space, just add another stack. I can eject them through the computer or manually. Works great for me. Right now I use six for DVD's, 2 for HDDVD's & 2 for Blu-Ray.
I have used this setup since Xmas. It works great except for the occasional glitch of not recognizing a USB connection in WindowsXP, which is easily fixed.

How much do those things cost and what's Darth Vader's eBay ID? Lol!

I paid $118.80 ea. from cyberguys. I believe that was with 10% off for signing up on their site.

Cool. A bit expensive for me at the moment though. :(

BTW, that is an impressive array of carousels!

You can take it a step further and try this AVS touted app:

Also go to the HTPC section and search on MediaPortal. HDD space is cheap!:D

Hi Folks
I am looking for up to date information and reviews for software that would enable me to easily catalogue music and movies, concerts etc.
I have done a search of AVS and many of the treads (incl this one) are quite old.
A search of download.com etc shows me all my movies, collectorz, and a few others.
Is there a thread that i missed that's recent and might do a comparison and enable me to make an informed decision.
At this point i'm not 100% clear on what i want, except the basic ability to easily key in the meta data, maybe have imdb complete the entry and then be able to sort, print or export the info.
Any help would be appreciated.
