So I've bought the spyder2 express sensor and am using it with HCFR (great software btw :) ) but can't seem to dial in the correct results. The monitor doesn't have any options on it other that the backlight control. All the tweaking must be done on the graphics card options menu. It's a nvidia card, with RGB gamma settings and color temp setting. You can also set the brightness, contrast, hue, and saturation but the gamma slider is grayed out. Whilst using the continous monitoring button, I tried to dial in the colors to D65 using 30/80 IRE also using Getgray DVD (also a great tool to have), but just couldn't get it accurate enough. The color temp was changed everytime I changed a RGB setting. I was changing the colors using RGB gamma controls, each color channel has it's own slider. Is this the correct way to do it? Is it similar to getting access to the color decoder settings on a normal tv?
After a bit of tweaking it looked ok, but different to what I'm normally used to. Put on some ripped seinfeld dvds and they just looked wrong so I switched back to default. Will try again later.
