I'd like to see a lot more of the french movies. I'm not sure about amazon.fr yet. I'd like to order that 2054 animated movie. Can recall the name. But I'd guess being its all french and no english they won't sell it..
But I'd like to get it just for the PQ and once I learn french I will understand it more...

I assume he sent you a confirmation that it's been shipped? If not, then it would appear your order did not go through the system and he never got it. My experience is he ships the same day of rec'ing the order, at times within hours. Best service by far of any internet movie dealer.

I have an order # and is listed as received. I don't think I got a confirmation of shipping, but I did get one when the order went through.

I had the same thing happen to me when I ordered HPGOF. On their checkout page you can enter in your credit card info but by default pay by check/money order is checked. I called after I didn't ever receive a shipping notification and that was the reason. Below is a copy and paste from the email I was sent after I asked what was going on with my order.

So the discs are shiped within the US and not overseas. If so sweet I may have to get a few. I've always hated waiting for overseas discs. Wondering if customs gets them which has lead to long waits. Took me 8 weeks to get a set of LDs once. Although all my amazon.uk orders came within 2 weeks.. The LDs were from japan and were marked 10 movies inside which would be my guess on why they cheeked LDs weigh a lot more then DVDs..

So I may have to get HP, and rambo 1-3

Renaissance (Paris 2054) has both English and French tracks. I own it in HD and it looks fantastic.

A title I picked up was Death at a Funeral. It's one of the funniest films I saw last year. Top notch crisp image with terrific natural skin tones and color. As with any import it's not cheap, but without a firm release date in the states, I couldn't resist.

A local music/video store here has several copies of it (both HD DVD and BD), including one that they just got in on Tuesday.

I got my great UK copy of HP5 from Xploited in record time with great personal service from Tony. Hope to go back for more soon.

I have the french version, and I didn't notice a pitch issue. Even went as far as comparing it to the DVD. Reviewer at High Def Digest (http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/1046/totalrecall_fr.html) didn't notice a problem either (as well as a few others here who have it as well).
Now Fist Blood does have pitch issue, though not bad enough to make it unwatchable IMHO. Also the First Blood sound track on VHS and DVD have some weird sounds, off key and such, again IMO. Actually though Col Trautman was huffing Helium, but compared to the DVD it wasn't far off :(
Looking forward to getting FB part 2 for a comparison.

Bottom line I think your safe with Total Recall, others may disagree, but I don't think it has a real problem. The Rambo series I couldn't recommend because it does have a problem, even if it wouldn't bother most.

i'd definately like to hear if the UK total recall has any pitch issues and how the PQ compares to the french release and the bluray release

That's the trick really, HD players do not decode DTS-MA (like they can TrueHD), but some receivers can through Bitstreaming, or so I've heard. (I don't have A35, XA2 or Onkyo player)

Not trying to sell anything, I only gave my experience with the title and how it compared to the DVD.

I heard some people say it sounded like chipmunks or the theme music was wildly screwed up. Not so in my experience. However it doesn't mean that it didn't or couldn't be a problem for some. Or that their might be 2 different pressings. Wish I could say rent it first, too bad we can't.

PS, I don;t think 21 bucks is a bad price for a import title or a HD title, however if anyone is concerned about a pitch isssue (which seems to be either it bothers or it doesn't) then skip the titles that have been reported with the problem. Maybe someday SC will reissue them.

If you do an A/B comparison with the standard DVD of TOTAL RECALL it is pretty obvious the sound is "off." If you havent seen the movie in a while and arent prone to noticing that kind of thing, it probably wont impact you...but it IS there.

I didn't notice it when watching it. The A B comparison was with the old receiver and Optical output for sound. I'll recheck it again someday.

The same thread that had the Total Recall comparison clips had T2 clips as well (Can't find it now)... There was no difference in pitch. I've got the T2 HD DVD and it's great.

PAL 5% audio speed up is the pitch issue.

It's there on some of the HD DVDs.

T2 does not have it but the Rambo movies do for sure.

No, it's synced. But the tone/pitch is off.

I've got the T2 HD DVD and it's great.

Same here. I use it as a demo when showing off my system. The scene with the helicopter under the overpass nearly killed my surrounds. I love it. The UK edition at $21.00 is a must buy in my opinion.

Ughgh. Have you seen it? I watched this in the theater and when I got home I immediately had to put in Excalibur to cleanse myself of this turd of a movie. Just a heads up in case you haven't seen it.
