As so many who come on here, I' looking at buying a 42 inch flat panel display. I prefer a monitor as I don't need a built in tuner. Main uses for the TV would be watching sports and gaming with watching DVDs a close 3rd.

I have not been able to find current info on which format (LCD or Plasma) is best for these needs, especially the gaming. I also don't want to spend over about $1,500.

I have been looking at the Westinghouse W4207 42" LCD Monitor but am not sure how good that would be for use with my XBox 360 and for watching sports.

Also, not sure if plasma still has burn-in issues with video games.

Any advise would be appreciated, especially if anyone owns the Westinghouse, has similar uses to mine and can give me a review.

Thanks!

If you break in your plasma, and vary your content, at most you will probably only have issues with IR from time to time, (but it goes away when varying content). If you are not one that likes to vary content, or take a little extra caution initially, then LCD is your best bet.

Panasonic/visio/phillips 42" plasmas can all be had for under that price, and likely 50" versions for that price or a little more if you shop around.
