Any chance we could get the thread preview feature where the user just has to place his/her mouse over the thread title to get a glimpse of the thread topic (if not better defined by the title itself)? Or if the user simply wants to save time.

And the thread ratings isn't necessarily something I'm dying to have, but I'm sure others would like to be able to vote (1-5 stars?) to help rate the more useful/informative threads.

We do not use the thread preview here because of the amount of traffic on the site. You see, even if it is not used, the software still needs to put copies of parts of each thread into the HTML page it downloads to you. This does not only take time for each thread to pull and inset the data from the database, but it adds a lot of text and popover code to the file being sent down. As such, it is a major resource hog.

We have really never seen the need for a thread rating here for we could see it being abused if a thread is started to promote a product. Thus it would not be used as it should be. (so we think)
