MickB 02-02-07, 02:11 PM Go to: xploitedcinema.com. They have a nice selection and more to come. edved1 02-02-07, 03:55 PM I got the movie from xploited. Good service. Video quality is very good, though the movie itself isn't as good as I remember it being when I first saw it. Borders on camp now. my2cents. homerx 02-02-07, 04:06 PM Great movie First I got the LD then the DVD now HDDVD. Yet another movie to import. This could get expensive in the next few months. Matrix and all the HP movies comming to france on HDDVD only. No totalHD either. I wonder if the UK will get THD Rachael Bellomy 02-02-07, 04:25 PM Go to: xploitedcinema.com. They have a nice selection and more to come. That's where I got my copy but in the future I will check Amazon France and see which is cheaper. Steeb 02-02-07, 05:11 PM Buyer Beware: I own the Total Recall import and unfortunately, while the PQ is phenomenal, the AQ suffers due to a slight speed-up. If you can live with the speed-up (which is pretty noticeable, especially if you're really familiar with the movie) go ahead and get it - it still has great PQ. lovebuzz#836 02-02-07, 05:52 PM Buyer Beware: I own the Total Recall import and unfortunately, while the PQ is phenomenal, the AQ suffers due to a slight speed-up. The audio is merely pitched up, there is no speedup. Macroblocker 02-02-07, 06:16 PM The audio is merely pitched up, there is no speedup. I just got Total Recall and it took only 2 days! the pq is great! and if i didnt read hear that the audio track was pitched up 3% i would have never noticed PacMan2006 02-02-07, 07:33 PM For you guys that are importing...roughly how much did you end up paying to get Total Recall imported? Steeb 02-02-07, 08:08 PM The audio is merely pitched up, there is no speedup. Isn't it from a PAL soundtrack? I thought that was why it was pitched up, due to the PAL speedup. Regardless of the cause, the audio has been altered and I was giving this guy fair warning. Had I known that Total Recall had the issue, I would not have purchased it. Rastor 02-02-07, 08:37 PM There's no speedup. If the audio was sped up, the sound track would finish before the the movie ended (!). It has been pitch-shifted however. What may have happened to cause this was that it was a PAL track (sped up) which was then time-corrected for 1080p24 timing, but wasn't pitch-corrected. dlittle 02-02-07, 08:50 PM i have a copy of Total Recall and it is a great transfer on hd dvd. I noticed absolutely no problem with the audio portion of the movie-perhaps it is because the visuals look so darn good, i was distracted. DO NOT let the audio issue be a factor in your decision to buy this movie. I am a picky person and I didn't notice anything at all. totally satisfied with this movie Tigerfan2006 02-02-07, 10:10 PM Ditto skriefal 02-02-07, 10:49 PM I would not have noticed the pitched-up audio if I hadn't read about it here. It's certainly noticeable if you're listening for it, but otherwise there's a good chance that you won't notice it. Hopefully Studio Canal will fix this problem on their future HD-DVD releases. highdefsw 02-03-07, 07:07 AM Watched my copy last night. Some screens were very good, some others a little soft and grainy but it's a lot better than the sd version! I agree on the sound issue, if you did not know it was there, probably would not notice it. If you like the movie, it's a good purchase! gerrynole 02-03-07, 08:45 AM I got the movie from xploited. Good service. Video quality is very good, though the movie itself isn't as good as I remember it being when I first saw it. Borders on camp now. my2cents. Totally agree. This movie has not aged well.Looks cheaply made.Great transfer though dazbug 02-07-07, 06:06 AM Have a look at our news page if your after some NON-US releases, with a link to an Australian store now offering all those HD DVD's you cant get in the US like Total Recall Rambo Trilogy See here http://www.hd-world.net/ jason10mm 02-07-07, 09:00 AM Heh heh, I remember when Total Recall came out. It was one of the most expensive movies ever, costing around $100 million to make, IIRC. Alas, I would love to see an extended cut since Arnold and Paul mention lots more blood in the commentary, but that is probably a pipe dream now. I am SO close to pulling the trigger on this disc, I just have to run those audio samples to see if the pitch increase bothers me (or hear that Studio Canal is fixing it in a new pressing). dazbug 02-07-07, 09:04 AM If your ordering from dvdstation.com.au, make sure you tell them your from hd-world and they will look after you ;) orc brute 02-07-07, 10:18 AM hi guys i use this company all the time www.movietyme.com they are excellent :) |
