I was checking out Exploitedcinema and wanted to make sure no restrictions on Hd dvd.
I live in Louisville, KY USA.
Also could anyone please tell me what region this is,
there were some dvd's I liked that said Region 0.
Can I play those?
Thanks
No region protection is in place for HDDVD discs.
All current HDDVD players have no region coding system either.
So yes, you can play them.
Well at the momment HDDVD is region free so it will play anywhere.
As far as DVDs america is region 1 so disc marked region1,0 or all will work here.
As far as dvds from overseas you'll want to cheek if their NTSC or PAL. The US uses the NTSC system and most of the world uses PAL. So you need a region free dvd player that will convert PAl to NTSC. Most do an alright job but many do not.
I my self will back up my pal imports convert them to region 1,0 PAl and use the xbox for playback (which oddly enough does a good job of converting)
