I have the Orb Audio Speakers and the Orb Super 8 sub. It started hummmmming tonight. I noticed it while watching tv. Volume has nothing to do with it. The hum is steady. Does anyone know why it would do this?
Thanks
You might have a ground-loop. You can try a cheater plug, but it is best to find the problem and fix it right.

How long have you had your sub? I had the same thing recently occur to my sub and determined it is the transformer hum from the sub's internal amplifier. If that is the case, the sub may be getting ready to fail on you. It will need to be repaired or replaced. If you unplug everything going into the sub and it is a two prong plug going into your wall socket and still hear the hum, the smart money would say that a transformer hum is your problem. If it is a three prong plug with a ground, use a cheater plug, plug it in, and if you have the hum, it's the transformer.
