View Full Version : Sub Placement Q (I know...such a novel topic)

Hello:

I received my new HSU sub last night and have been tinkering with it (I love it so far).

My question is: In the sub documentation is says:

You may place a subwoofer inside a cavity in your entertainment center if three inches of space is
maintained between the ports and the nearest surface, and two inches between the woofer and the
nearest surface. If you have the turbo, you just need 1˝ clearance between the turbo and the nearest
surface. For ease of access to connections and controls, you may want to consider facing the woofer
into the room or face the amplifier and ports into the room.

Just such a placement would be PERFECT for me in my room. If you see the picture below of the setup, I could do either of 2 options:

1. Rearrange the shelving on the right to place the sub on the floor in that cavity under the AV equipment; or,

2. (and here is a really crazy idea) place the sub BEHIND the TV (there is a cavity there behind the flat LCD made for a standard CRT TV. The sub would be behind and LCD TV and a black curtain I place there to hide the space.

It seems from the HSU docs that either might work.

Thoughts?

Email HSU and ask them what they think?

I posted there as well. Just figured I wouldn't limit sources.
