I hope that someone can answer what I believe to be a simple questions...

I will, next week, be replacing my Sharp Aquos LCD with a Pioneer Elite plasma. I will obviously need to replace/teach the current Sharp commands with the corresponding/equivalent Pioneer commands.

The questions is...will I need to redo the macros or will the mcros continue to operate properly given that they are "built" by referencing the existing commands.

Thanks for any and all help, noting that I can not test this out as I do not yet have the new plasma..

I think you will not have to relearn the macros, if the relative LOCATIONS of the commands are not changed.

I believe macros in the URC line are just “recordings” of button pushes that you would have to do manually to get the desired results. The macros should make the same series of button pushes no matter what the function of the buttons that it’s “pushing” are. Certainly using the “LEARN” method to change to the Pioneer commands will not affect the macros. Using the P-PRO probably would not affect the macros either, assuming nothing moves or that pages aren’t added.

kbp:

That is certainly what I was hoping...that said, I guess that the only way to tell with complete certainty is teach the remote the Pioneer's codes with the same relative location and see what happens...with the new unit being installed at the end of the week I will report back...

Much tahnks..
