My friend is thinking about getting the Sony AVC-HD DVD camcorder. On the website it states that the disc can be played on a BD player.

The following are his questions:

1. Will he be able to backup his home movies simply by using DVD copy?
2. Will he be able to play the recordings (and/or their backups) using HD-A1?
