i am running a p4 3.2 dual core intel with 2gbs of memory, 320gb drive, 512mb Asus EN7900GTX Video Card.

and i am pushing to a Sharp pg-a20x projector onto a 7ft diag DA-Light electronic screen.

I am trying to run pc games on the projection screen. i have tried a few and one i really want to play up there is World of Warcraft. but i can hardly read anything on the screen, and it is giving me a headache trying to squint.

i dont think it has anything to do with the game, as even my desktop or IE, word, outlook .... doesnt matter anything i run on my pc looks like crap.

running at 1024X768 (max for projector)

is there anything i can do to clear it up? a different type of connection?

my video card has dual dvi / dual vga / hdtv out / tv out (svideo)

currently using the svideo option. would any of the others be that much better?

thanks.!

OMG yes s video for a pc connection is aweful...use vga or component or dvi if it has it. S-video to a projector is a crime my friend. LOL wait till you see the difference

one more question.

would component be much clearer? .... dont have dvi on the projector but i am going from dvi on the pc via an adapter to a vga port on the projector.

would composite be much better?

thanks for the help

heres a list of quality based on type of connection, since I cant see where you're from I'll stick to the most basic connections.

Coaxial(the screw on vcr type connection)
composite(yellow rca cord)
S-video( funky round multi prong)
component (red,green ,blue rca type)
vga
dvi
hdmi(the last 3 being almost same but slight edge going to dvi and hdmi)

You're fine with dvi via vga since dvi-i /vga and component are all the same signal basically. Dvi-d/hdmi are basically the same digital signal cept hdmi can also carry audio, being its the correct version to do so...

And yes OMG is probably right hehe svideo from a pc is purely dreadful quality most of the time. You can get a nice long run of vga cord, I assume youre using the cards dvi to vga adapter then running cord to set. I have nice 25ft vga cord from pccables.com for almost nothing great quality too. Just be aware running it to far can cause picture problems.

Good list and I'll put a line where the big jump happens:

RF (lol)
Coaxial(the screw on vcr type connection)
composite(yellow rca cord)
S-video( funky round multi prong)
---------------------------------- Below is where HD quality starts and imo all are good
component (red,green ,blue rca type)
vga
dvi
hdmi(the last 3 being almost same but slight edge going to dvi and hdmi)
