My only bug to report is that when I go to use the created MP4 in a video project for Pinnacle Studio Ultimate it cannot read the contents of the file. I use WinFF to re-output the MP4 file and it works just fine after that (this process only takes 2-5min at most so its really not a huge burdon, and there is no loss of quality either).

So I'm not sure if a codec is missing during the output but other than that your site is remarkable. A truly great addition to the WWW. KUDOS!!

Really great site. I had the same problem with reading the .mp4 files and used the free winff converter as mentioned above to convert to a .wmv file. Now it reads them perfectly.

Not sure if I am posting in the right place?
Looking for advice on easy to use software that will allow me to:

Import photos, wmv files, video from a digital camcorder, import old VHS footage, etc.. AND organize and burn these various files into DVDs playable in my HT, any tips?

Windows media center and Windows movie maker was promising but it appears neither will output. publish, or "save-as" in a file format that is DVD player friendly. I think I need something that will burn a DVD in the AVC format..?

Looking for a Blender Master!

I am looking for someone who is a master at the Blender program, or anything comparable to it. As much as I would love to be able to take the time to sit down and teach myself the program, I am stretched pretty thin right now with no relief in site.

I am looking for someone who can take an existing logo, and turn it into an animated logo. This is a very simple animation in that all I want it to do is to spin around slowly on its axis. Actually to spin slowly from the 'front side' to the 'back side', then remain stationary for maybe a few seconds, then spin slowly again.

I would like the final product in both an avi file and as an animated gif.

If anyone would be interested in doing something like this, please shoot me a PM and let me know how much $$$ you would charge for something like this. Time is somewhat essential on this, so I'll be anxiously awaiting any replies.

Thanks guitarbuildernh for posting this! One issue though. I noticed after I rendered it into a video each time that the quality was degraded...even when the file as large as 7gb! I believe I know why, and I don't know enough about using AE to know how to resolve it. I believe it's because the original video size is being enlarged. Whereas the original video is 1920X1080 the actual displayed video is smaller(hence the black bars at the top and bottom.) Your uploaded AE project 'resizes' it to the full 1920X1080 and it makes it look quite pixelated on my 26" monitor compared to the source content. Is there anyway to keep the 'black bars'? Or is this an unavoidable consequense of the customization?

the file formats were mp4 and flv to download the file. I use xbmc.org as a media center so I downloaded the mp4 file and it looks awesome as an intro before my movie plays. Really easy and looks great.

The new Lionsgate intro is up at Vipid, but even though it's in the "free intro" section it says "This template is available only for paid users." Hmmmmm. I know, I'm a cheapskate, but really.

I am working on a new after Effects project that will allow you to:

1. Drop your text directly into the intro file without having to know anything about my previous project and layers and time mapping and all that stuff.

2. I am hoping to recreate the project so that at the end, the camera will zoom past the text and 'fly' along the water as it fades out. That will take a little more doing, but it should be fun

So it's nice that the new Star Wars intro is up over at vipidme. Too bad us that paid are screwed and have no way to make one in 1080p without paying another $15 on top of the $35 I've already paid. Wy would you not allow people to use points for these? Because of the copyright laws?

After much searching for a Star Wars intro on Blender that I could understand, I stumbled on a little program called LSText. It's a little clunky, the instructions are vague, the forum doesn't work and his email address bounced, but I managed to create this:

OK, so, as my name suggest im a COMPLETE noob! but i created a sort of Paramount pictures intro, but ill be making a version 2 AND 3 and possibly more, because i know it needs polishing.

I used the Particle System, so that the mist surrounds the mountain. thats the only real animation. I'd suggest setting it to FFMPEG.

i hope to make/modify more blender intros.

ill upload them in 3 posts :(

i also have several ones ive made by myself, IE: fire ones, but im always working/ improving or studying for school :( lol, ill probs upload the others in some other post :)

I need some help. im recreating the WTC south Tower collapse. Now, im rubbish with tutorials so im wondering if someone could describe what i need to do. I have made the buildings already using City Block Generator and Suicidator (spelt right?) city generator. I just cant figure out how to make it.... fall.

I've got the same issue, just with the letter 'T' on the Fox logo by Matt Hoecker.blend file.

Older version worked better, just had a flicker issue even with the 'fixed flicker' blend file.

I'm trying to work on the 3D logo of the Disney (Cinderella) castle from w84no1 webpage, and I can't figure out how to change the font type. I have the Disney Script, but I'm confused how to change the font on blender. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Also, does anyone know where I can download the .blend for the new Disney (Cinderella) castle logo with the fireworks show? Or maybe some place where I can donate for a version with customized text? Thanks, again.

I've been watching this thread for quite some time and have also acquired a few of the posted templates here. Now registered I wanted to thank everybody here for helping me so much.

I am Ballyweg. I make tutorials and template files for custom intros, as you do in these forums. On my homepage, you can check out these tutorials.

Welcome to the forum Ballyweg! I checked out your website and I must say I'm impressed. You have quite some number of intros that have not been posted here, including the much sought after Dreamworks intros and a couple other unique ones (Legendary Pictures - NICE!). I like that you have some of the "simpler" more classic intros as well, Paramount, Columbia/Tristar, etc. I've tried my hand at a couple of those in After Effects but I always managed to get stumped and quit. (By the way, I'd recognize that Touchstone intro anywhere - with the knobby ends that are too big for the cylinder, and the cheesy lightning bolt .jpg slapped on at the end - ah those were the days... :D)

I was hopeful to find a tutorial on your site for one of the Dreamworks intros, or in fact a couple of your other ones as well. Do you plan to post any additional tutorials and templates beyond the ones that are online now? I know several of us here would love to add to our collections, and some of us would jump at even just the templates, so we can stumble through ourselves without imposing on you for a whole tutorial.

Lastly, thank you so much for crediting me in the two tutorials for the Lionsgate intros. I really appreciate the nod!

Good to see that this thread isn't dead.
I want to thank you too, because of your Lionsgate template file, which I edited to work with the Horror intro, I learned a lot of cool features of After Effects, leading to the new intros that I have done. So without you, there probably wouldn't be any of them.

I certainly will create tutorials for ALL the intros, Dreamworks being the next one I'll do, seeing that many people desire that.

Ballyweg thank you for sharing those files and instructions. Last night I reinstalled Blender and whipped myself up a nice little Madagascar themed intro using your template. You've really made it as simple as it could possibly be, and the end result looked great. If you create your own intro what about the intro from the original movie ? do you guys cut that out .. if so how ?

Slitman that's an interesting question, though I suspect everyone here is doing something a bit different. The answer and the options depend highly on what hardware and software each person is using for playback.

I doubt that many, if any, are doing as you suggest and replacing the original intros with a customized one in the movie files / .isos themselves. I've actually considered that, so that for example all of my Pixar movies would contain my custom Pixar intro, swap Dreamworks for Dreamworks, etc. but it would be an extremely long and complicated task to cut them in to all my movie images one by one. That and we don't have one [yet!] for every studio or production company...

Instead what I imagine most people are doing is cutting out all intros and special features completely, for example using DVD Shrink to just rip a main movie and potentially a menu. Then either in the player or as some kind of playlist they might load one or two of their custom intros before the main movie and let it rip.

TheaterTek for example has options for playing trailers automatically before it plays any movie movie, you just have to point it at the video file and set the trailer playlist up in advance. So what I used to do was use My Movies in media center to browse my collection and automount DVD-Shrink'ed .isos to Daemon Tools or Virtual Clone Drive, then theater tek would notice the "inserted DVD" and autoplay it, but not before playing whichever trailers I'd set up in the options. From what I understand this used to be a common practice, though I believe TT has fallen out of favor due to lack of Bluray support and I'm not sure how or whether a similar function can be performed in TMT or PDVD.

If I'm being completely honest I don't even "use" these trailers anymore, it's more the fun of creating and collecting them than actually watching them. Don't get me wrong, I still love to show them off to the occasional guest, particularly when I get a new one, but when it's just the wife or I launching a movie do we really need to see "<Your Name Here> Cinemas!" for the 700th time? That's why we DVDshrink'ed the .sos in the first place, because we just want to watch the movie ;) Best of luck discovering what works for you!

Thanks Magius. I'd agree I wouldn't want to have the intro playing every time the wife and I watch movies. Its really more for demo purposes when we have guests .. something neat to show off I guess.

Ballyweg that's great stuff. I'll check out your Paramount template and tutorial when I have a bit more time, but those new trailers were nice. I'd really love to see a tutorial/template for the basic dreamworks one, not the one with the UFO. That's been my personal holy grail of intros since I started down this road, with the water ripples and clouds... I love it!

Also nice job on the Disney intro, you did a great job with the particle effect behind the text. That's very difficult to recreate. I spent a long time playing with it on my own version of that intro, but I still never got it quite right. I can't remember for sure, but wasn't your original version the one where the particles flew out and then turned around and went backwards? :D Either way this new one looks great!

Yes, the first Disney intro was not so good, and based on the template from woodyfamilycinema. I thought that could be made better and started one from scratch.

thanks for this great templates. The Dreamwork ones are wonderful. But I have a problem with the Madagaskar template. This is flickering while rendering and doing many render-errors. I can also see them in the final video. The other 2 templates (BeeMovie and M vs A) are doing fine without any errors.

Hmmm, sound weird. Try using another codec, e.g. instead of AVI, use H.264 and see if that works. Also take a look at the source file (the .avi in folder) and see if that lags. On my part, I have no problems with it.

Found the problem. It was the MP4-File in the ae-project, transcoded to XVID-Avi fixed it. I think the installed codecs on my machines are not the best ones.

Have you worked on the 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment 2010 as yet?

I have been trying out a few templates I found here on the forum, which consist of different variation of the 20th Century intro. I think BlenderNOOB posted these. But I've been too lazy to render them, as the take ages to complete. :-)

I followed your tutorial for the disney intro and everything went well until I opened the after effects file. I am using CS5 and opened the appropriate file but received a series of error messages:
"After Effects: this project must be converted from version 9.03 (Windows) and will open as an untitled project. The original file will be unchanged"
followed by two of these messages: After Effects error: zero denonimator converting ratio denominators.
(17::18)
I do get the Walt Disney production text but no images behind the text.
Any idea where I went wrong?

@No Clue: You might not have the right code installed. The conversion errors are normal, but you might need QuickTime. Also try the other alternative template I have uploaded on my site.

@wi5rinma That shouldn't have any influence on the Pixar tutorial. It's some license for a plugin on your computer.

AE starts but stays stuck on this. Moving the mouse makes AE non-responsive. Every time I reopen the ballywegs' Disney file, the percentage varies. But stays at the same percentage. I even left one open over night and it stayed the same

hrm... its true i dont have quicktime on my machine (part of my anti-apple purge from 7 years ago), if you have a mp4 version though, i'll gladly try that one :D

got it! the file openned in after effects with no problem. i did encounter a weird error though when i hit render in AE though. it was something about frame size incorrect. instead of picking h.264, i picked h.264 blu-ray. its rendering right now! thanks Bally!

i have to ask... how'd you get so after effects studly? :D school? work? recreation?
