I do not buy HD DVDs or any other DVDs for that matter (except some music ones). However, I would like to have an HD DVD on hand to demo not only the picture quality but more so the sound of my system. I belong to Blockbuster online and have rented about six or so movies since I got my system up and running a few weeks before Christmas. MI3, Seabiscuit, Four Brother's, etc. to name a few. MI3's bridge scene was good, Seabiscuit was good when they ran the horses on the track (really showed off the sub and bass shakers in the seats). However, there have got to be better movies to demo because these were just DD+ and not True HD. I am looking for something to not be just bass but all sound (although some good bass stuff helps--I have a NSD plus 2 SVS). What are your suggestions? Please remember, this is HD DVD only as I don't have a BluRay player.

Thanks.

Jay7,

I like to use Batman Begins with the ice fight sequence to show off the sound of my system. I have a IB subwoofer and the cracking of the ice is scary at high volumes :)

I like the King Kong sequence starting with the scene where we first see the T-Rex and then running until the end of the battle between Kong and the three Rex's. Good sound and video IMHO. :D

On DVD I've yet to find better then Master and Commander and War of The Worlds for showing off the bass in my system. Can't wait for these to get into a lossless audio format.
