Hi all, I need your help.

I have a customers Viewsonic V210 wireless display that doesn't want to connect anymore to the host pc(XP Pro) via a remote desktop connection.

Everytime he tries to connect he gets this message: "Remote Desktop Disconnected - The connection was ended because of a network error. Please try

connecting to the remote computer again".

Its been working good for about one and a half year and then started having this problem since about 2 weeks ago.

- The V210 is able to access the internet without any problem.

- I tried with my customers laptop and it connects to the host pc without any problems.

- I tried with the V210 at my home on my host pc(XP Pro) and I also cannot connect.

- I tried with my laptop at home on my host pc and it connects without any problems.

The above tests seems to indicate that both host pc(customer and mine) are setup correctly and that the V210 is in fact the source of the problem.

I googled and cannot find any solutions to this problem. I checked the viewsonic website support and it just doesn't help at all.

Has this ever happened to you and what have you found to enable it to reconnect?

Could it be that the remote desktop connection client software (RDC) is corrupted?

Any help suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Roger

Problem solved. I had to update the V210 image. The Viewsonic tech was very helpful in telling me how to do it. I guess the firmware was corrupted preventing the remote desktop connection.

I have a Viewsonic v210 with an 802.11b wireless card and a Crestron Isys (rebadged Viewsonic v210) with an 80211b/g wirelss card. Both units can connect to my wireless network and yet when I attempt to rdp to an XP SP3 machine and Vista SP2 machine both displays get "The Connection was ended because of a network error. Please try connecting to the remote computer again." I've made this a very simplistic network with no security on the access point and turned off any firewall/anti-virus software on the XP and Vista systems. I know RDP works to these units as I've used rdp from XP to Vista and Vista to XP. I've reflashed the v210 with 4 different firmware versions and it's the same result each time. The only firmware I do not have is the original NK_B23 from viewsonic as the image appears corrupt. Any thoughts or ideas that anyone has would be appreciated as I'd like to use these panels for controlling my HTPC.

Thanks in advance!

Dean

I quick google search turned up this (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;323497&). It sounds like your issue, but check your error logs to be sure.

Thanks but I had googled that previously and checked all that out. Error logs are clean, so I'm going to try to sniff the network to see if they're making it to the PCs in question or dying at the router.
