I've got a budget of around 800 bucks (Canadian) for a sub. My listening is half-and-half music and movies. I'm in Canada, so I want to buy something locally to avoid massive shipping costs, etc. I'm thinking of the SVS PB12-NSD or HSU VTF 3.2 (available locally, the VTF 3.3 is not) or maybe something from Paradigm since the rest of my speakers are Paradigm Studios. Any suggestions? I've attached a simple drawing of my room layout. The room is about 24 feet by 12 feet and 7 foot ceilings. The room has two openings into an adjoining area. Thanks.

You won't be able to get anything from Paradigm that will match up to the HSU or SVS close to their price points.
Either sub is great, I would go with whichever one you can get the best deal on.

if you're patient, keep a eye on the svs b-stock list for a week or two.
i save $300 on the pb12-plus because it had a "cloudy finish" whis is only visible under flouescent lighting...
Do you guys think the SVS PB12-NSD would be enough for this size room? Also, does it do a decent job with music?

I think the PB12 would work great, but I would definitely place it on the wall that doesn't have the openings either in the front corner, or next to the sofa.
