My room is 2550 cubic feet. Will a Hsu VTF-2 MK2 (or comparable sub) be able to adequately pressurize the room and provide ample volume, or should I be looking at something larger?

One concern for moving up is cabinet size: I only have about 24" from floor to the bottom of my screen, so larger cabinets like the VTF-2 MK3 with spikes will just barely fit . . . or possibly even cover a bit of the screen.

What's your recommendation — try the VTF-2 MK2 or look for something with more power?

Thanks

It really depends on what adequately means to you and your listening habits. If you want reference levels of bass down to 20 Hz, then no way. If you listen to your DVDs at -15 to -20 then you will probably not need much more.

The general rule is that you cannot have too much subwoofer. The more you have the more headroom is there when you need it and the normal operating range is less taxing.
So, buy one and try it. You can always return it and move up to the HO models...
