I'm saving tons of money! :) Really... I wish there were more titles to buy but I can say honestly, that I'm saving money and I really need to since I'm just recovering from X-mas. I have purchased over 30 titles since I got my Toshiba A1 last October but now...there is no titles except few that I will be interested in. Not sure if it is a good thing or not for most of you... but it sure is good on my wallet. On that note.. I thank you HD-DVD for not making me spend any money! Therefore... I win... you lose!

You put so much of a spin on a bad thing that you made me dizzy.

Another spin might be that now it's time for format neutral people, like myself, to ramp up Blu-ray Disc purchases and the attach rates.

You know, I tried that. I bought Resident Evil: Apocolypse, Invincible and Devil Wears Prada a few days ago. I was not impressed at all on the PQ on any of them though Invincible mq and pq was the best of the three (and I thought Prada was supposed to BD reference material).

As for a lack of HDDVD titles, I don't see it. We got The Departed, The Getaway, Bullitt and The Game (say it with me everybody The Game - yeeee hawwww) on the way and Beerfest, Wickerman, Babel and Hollywoodland will make great rentals.

More viral marketing from Sony.

So you guys still with Zipatoni?

How about another spray painting campaign like you did with PSP?

Who says Prada was reference material? You are quite misinformed. ROFL. Its not that hard to look at the Tier list in the Blu-Ray software section. Stop spreading lies.

Invincible is in Tier1. Although for Blu-ray, that might be akin to being valedictorian of summer school.

Thanks for playing, though. OK, then, bye, bye now.

The Game? Ugh.. Awful movie. Actually, awful ending that ruined the movie. It's as if they couldn't carry out the awesomely dark concept that they brought through the first 3/4 of the film. And they had to make a joke of it with the ending.

Actually, IF there is one positive is that it allows folks who are evaluating HD DVD as a viable to see the current inbuilt market support for it. Two things are key to track here:

1. Sales ratios of simultaneous releases. IF we see them heavily skewed it would indicate that one format enjoys far greater support and/or people are migrating from one format to the other.

2. The sales of older titles. This would indicate to me new hardware being sold for that format. So, if hardware is being sold even with almost no new software, it would indicate that the product has established a beach head of some sort.

Of course the other key metric that is not directly related to this is,

3. Continued sale of hardware. IF hardware sales are relatively strong even with low software output it would indicate some level of brand awareness and investing for the future. The PS3 is an excellent example of people who have bought it irrespective of software being available (I am referring to gamers here).

So, for those looking to see if HD DVD has a substantial beachhead, this period is pretty critical. By all accounts Toshiba's CE division isn't hurting because of HD DVD support, neither is MSFT. These are all good things.

Anyway, this thead is about positives, and this is my brief summary of positives that one can gleam from this....

So if there weren't going to be any new HD-DVD titles coming out for good then you would be ecstatic I take it.
