$300-Hsu, Velodyne, or BIC H-100, which should I buy?
Veldyne DPS-10, Hsu STF-1, or BIC Acoustech H-100...

Well I guess it all depends on how much you WANT to spend. The Velodyne at $150 is probably the best bang for the buck, but the others might offer a little more performance if you're willing to spend the money.

DPS-10 is about $300 on ebay. Stick to the models listed or suggest something equal or better for the price please.

Just installed the VTF-1. room is 12 x 14 x 8 with three door size openings. The sound and the feeling is amazing. Replaced a jbl 12" 250 watt. No comparison between the two. hsu is impressive. Just over $400 with shipping. I also use an 8 inch velodyne in the system, it too sounds good.
Don't know anything about BIC.... Good Listening...

A little snippy for someone asking advice who doesn't want to bother researching. :D

IMO the H-100 is your overall best value at $200. You can find the DPS-10 a lil cheaper, probably around $150 with a lil research but imo the performance differences isn't worth a few bucks savings. The STF-1 is going to give you the best quality bass and more musical, it won't dig quite as deep in the low frequencies for HT as the H-100.

IMO if your using it for over 50% music go for the STF-1, over 50% HT go for the H-100.

You're unlikely to find a clear cut winner here. They are all worthy choices. For my use – 14 x 14 x 8 room, stereo receiver, 95% music (classical and jazz), small footprint required – the STF-1 proved perfect.
