A local retailer has a few of the above subs for sale at about $270 and states they can probably do better than that. The subs are 125 watt push pull design. I understand that they are discontinued.
I have a room that is about 2000 cubic feet with no openings to other rooms. I thought for the price I might be able to buy two of these subs fro the room. My receiver is a Denon 2807, mains are ADS M900 (they're not new, but they are great speakers). Current sub is a Boston Acoustics PV 400 (I believe, I'm not at home now and can't double check).
Question: Is this a decent deal for the price, or would I be better off just getting a single sub, higher rated (for power) sub?
Thanks to all for your thoughts.

I've heard good things about MK subs, but nothing specific. Wish I could help :(
In the '90s M&K used to be THE sub to have. I have an older M&K. A V1-B. I have no idea how old it really is, but it sure seems to put out the bass. I'm going to try room eq wizard and see if I can graph the output.

It is one of the most musical subs there is, But it does not extend very low, maybe 30 hz if you are lucky. Great bass definition though.

Forgive me Mktheater, but which sub are you talking about? The OP's possible buy or my V1-B?

The mx-70b, which I owned, from M&K. They have great bass definition. I have not heard your particular M&K. You were probably curious about that 30 hz, that remark was for the MX-70b only.

Great bass definition though.or 27 Hz if you're really lucky...nothing below that though...it was a nice sub to own, with good resale value...did its job well for a few months in my HT...too limited with just 8" drivers though...however, a pair in 2,000ft3 would surprise you with its output...extension is just not that good with 8" subwoofers, especially sealed ones...i was initially enamored with M&K but the lustre faded quickly as i learned the all the particulars about subwoofers in general...
That said, if you can get him to $500 for a pair then take the plunge... ;)

Thanks for all the responses. I ended up going a different direction and picked up two ML Dynamos instead (10 in sealed, rated down to 25 hz). The M&Ks are available for $250 each, but decided to go with the MLs instead.
