I recently purchased a Hitachi 55HDX99 Plasma.I work for a large dealer in the NYC area,so I know a bit about what I'm looking at.The unit just received the latest software as well(VERSION 0116.1001).I noticed a faint line going horizontally across the center of the screen.It has several other lines that go from the center up in a stairstep kind of pattern.The unit went to a service center that did not see what I was talking about until I physically went there and pointed it out.It is not present during dark scenes,but it is evident during lighter scenes.It is visible on all inputs:HDMI,Component,etc.I have tried multiple sources as well.
Now that I established that mine had a problem I started poking around at the other sets at my disposal.We have at least 3 sets all with the same issue.Different locations,different sources,etc.I was at another dealer in the area that also had this model on display and they also have the same issue.Now I'll admit that it is not east to see,but once you notice it you can't not see it.I have called Hitachi and they seem to think I'm nuts,because nobody else has reported this issue.

Has anyone else seen this.If so please advise.My Unit has been the guinea pig to see what the problem is,but before we proceed as a company I would like to know if anyone else can see this besides us.

I got my 55HDX62 just two weeks ago from BB and yesteday noticed steady non-moving line approx 2 1/2" wide accros screen. I did my research and I believe this issue was previously described by twnmango. He was advised to check this forum:

So I will follow their instructions and see if it will help.

My 55HDX99 is showing this also, seems to be brighter scenes it's more visible. It is right in the center and looks like a number of horizontal lines stacked on top of each other with a light area between them. I think it's going back, just not sure whether it will be an exchange or new model.
